Bitrode’s test solutions simulate the actions of the vehicle as it places demands on the batteries, allowing laboratories to drive simulations with standard electric vehicle tests, such as FUDS, SFUDS, GSFUDS, DST and ECE15L. It also runs proprietary programs based on the drive time data gathered from EV/HEV’s normal use.
In addition to Bitrode’s standard user-friendly VisuaLCN software suite, the company offers customized sophisticated control systems including National Instruments and A&D’s iTest advanced control and testing. The A&D Technologies’ state-of-the-art iTest EV solution that includes LabMinder and iCentral—as used at GM’s Advanced Battery lab. This innovative system maximizes productivity while reducing hard costs and creates a redundant fail-safe laboratory with active error tracking and notification functionality that assists in the prevention of critical battery failure (including potential thermal events). Complete lab monitoring status— including chambers and other auxiliary equipment—and automated notification and lab surveillance cameras make off-site management easy.
This collaborative system maximizes systems and personnel by automating systems to achieve 24/7 operation utilizing only half the usual lab experts and equipment as would be needed with standard systems.
