Digatron Firing Circuits Electric Vehicle Battery Tester (EVT) is a scalable computer-controlled equipment that emulates load profiles of EV & HEV. The EVT realises the functions charge and discharge with freely programmable set values for current, voltage, power or resistance in test programs. welcomes Digatron Firing Circuits as a Premium Partner and provides more details on the EVT.
“By joining, our company interlocks even tighter with leading OEMs and their suppliers. is our digital platform of choice to educate the industry about our battery testing and formation solutions.” Kevin Campbell, V.P. International Business Development

The Electric Vehicle Battery Tester (EVT) is designed for testing traction batteries in electric vehicles or HEV batteries in hybrid electric vehicles. The EVT realises the functions charge and discharge with freely programmable set values for current, voltage, power or resistance in test programs, as well as the registration of the corresponding measured data.

Due to the specific requirements (fast load changes and simulation of driving cycles) the EVT is equipped with Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBT)-technology.

This technology allows it to feed the energy back to the AC power lines while discharging, which results in low power heat dissipation. Additional cooling systems are not required.

The high speed transition from charge to discharge and vice versa makes the EVT ideal for Electric/ Hybrid Electric Vehicle battery testing. Particularly the feature for repeat drive cycles, which has been recorded by using a portable datalogger during a real test drive, provides reproducible test results. Beside this, test regimes can be freely programmed for all kinds of electric vehicle batteries or any other industrial energy storage devices.

“The Digatron/Firing Circuits EVT Electric Vehicle Tester provides the customer with over 160kW of power per square meter while fitting into existing laboratories easily. The ability to combine high-speed data logging with external CAN bus software control makes it an invaluable tool in any serious Hardware-in-the-Loop setup.” Ralf Beckers, Marketing Manager
